Hello everyone,

I have been a member for just a few weeks, and I have been sitting

back to see what goes on. I'm fairly quiet, and don't just jump

right in there with both feet! LOL! It's pretty bad when you feel

shy even over the internet, huh?

I was looking thru the recipe file and that hot cereal recipe sounds

really good; but for the life of me, I have never heard of Sunny

Boy Cereal. Could you tell me what it is, please? Thanks.

A little about myself. I was born and raised in London, England and

married an American serviceman (USAF) We live in Utah because we

just fell in love with the state and those HUGE mountains! We have 6

kids (2 his and 4 ours)and 11 1/2 grandkids. 10 grandsons and

finally a granddaughter! The new one is due feb/mar and is also a

girl! YEAH!!

I've been trying since my early 20's to stop eating meat, and it has

been too hard with all these huge meat eating men. While I was

cooking, the meat would smell so good, then I would bite into it

and........UGH!! YUK! I don't want to offend anyone; but I don't

want to not eat meat for any reason other than health and because I

cannot eat meat, it's too hard on my stomach and I no longer enjoy

eating it. 1-1/2 yrs ago I had gastric bypass surgery and have lost

105 lbs. but still need to lose 15 lbs more. The reson I tell you

this is because I need some advice, I guess. At each meal I can

only eat 6 oz and carbs are out until I am down to my goal weight. I

am supposed to eat 70% protein and 30% veggies. I get most of my

protein from eggs, cheese and once in a great while, fish. Cheese

is so high fat though, and Mozzerella has a hard time getting down

my throat, it wants to choke me! Just sticks in my throat. We are

on a tight tight budget right now, so things like yogurt and the

more expensive cheeses are out. What kinds of foods do you guys eat

that is high protein? I know tofu is and I love tofu; but what else

is there? I really don't know if I can be called vegitarian as much

as an abstainer from meat. :o)

Can any one give me any ideas please?

Thanks

Carole
