Guest guest
Oh, and I'm in Montreal, Canada ;=) after four years in Ontario. Before that we spent 25 years in Australia, before that . . I'm UK-born This makes me curious about your accent...Do you sound like an Aussie w/a French accent or have you hung on to your UK accent? How old were you when you moved to Oz? Pat <veggiehound wrote: Well Hi again ;=) I'm Pat, and I am co-moderator of this group, which was originally founded by Laura who was unable to continue with it ;=( after a few months. We miss her. Since then Paula (another co-moderator) has taken a leave of absence from moderating while she is involved in professional stuff elsewhere (where it's warmer than it is here!) but she checks in with us now and then. (Hi to you both!) And now Nancy in the USA and Piers in the Netherlands are co- moderating with me. Dunno what I'd do without them both! <grovel grovel grovel><grin> Oh, and I'm in Montreal, Canada ;=) Long-time veggie, now lacto only but leaning very strongly to a plant-based diet. My dh (also veggie) and I recently moved here after four years in Ontario. Before that we spent 25 years in Australia, before that . . . . well who in hades cares *what* we did so very long ago LOL Anyway, we're back in Canada, presumably to stay ;=) now. I'm UK- born, if that's of interest to anyone here - we have quite a few loyal UK members!! We're just the two of us here, as they say, which is why so many of my recipes are only for two persons, sometimes four - I try to make them so that they will easily halve for one person too. That's usually stated on my recipes. Actually, it's not correct to say that we are 'just the two of us' since, as people here have heard over and over again in OffTopic comments (gotta watch that!), we have a pair of tri-colour beagles and a dsh tiger tabbycat. The cat steals tofu when he can, the hounds beg for it, especially the older one. Go figure! Not everyone on this list is here for 'slimming' or 'weightloss'. Some just want to keep the trim or not-so-trim figures they currently have, some are more concerned with general health issues, and some are just here because they like talking to other vegetarians and vegans. Actually, not everyone is vegan or vegetarian either, but they're pretty tolerant of us and we don't beat them up too hard for eating you-know-what ;=) as long as they don't talk about it on the list. So let's hear from you all. Please accept this as a group 'welcome' to all who have joined and a special Thank You to those who have so kindly filled out their questionnaires or sent in an intro or both! I'm sure I'll get a chance to chat with you all in time! Meanwhile, check out our webpage at: vegetarianslimming/ Best love, Pat ;=)
