Greetings to group,

Thanks again for the invite to the group. I truly am enjoying a

new location but transition can be hard on the vegan/vegetarian end of

things. It's alot easier when you get things all set up in one spot as

opposed to moving to a new location or even more a entire new area.

Having to rely on fast food can be a challenge. Bean burritos ( no

cheese for vegan), french fries , BK veggie burger combos or veggie

subs can cover fairly well . I actually camped quite a bit with four

dogs and yes they were a challenge to my patience. Anything over two is

like a multiple ( three is twice as hard as two, four is twice as hard

as three) as they seem to play off one another. I hadn't camped for

over five years and have been vegan for four years. I really was amazed

how much easier it was camping as a vegetarian. ( assuming you don't

have a fully equipped RV.). Veggie burgers keep quite a while and

actually don't taste all that bad without cooking them with a big slice

of onion and salsa or mustard.. All meat spoiles even cookcuts as far as

camping goes. I've always liked the bumper sticker that reads " Beef

it's what's rotting in your colon " . :-) Anyway now I have a full

kitchen with many spices. Instead of the inner city I guess I'm happy to

be in the woods. My husky/labs are pretty much saying, aaaooolll which

translated means , wow. Anyhoo, just a short intro. Looking forward to

getting to know you all and getting some good recipes. None of the

folks I have met here are vegetarian including the musician/artist

friends who invited me here ( am sure I will met some folks who are)

however that's where cyberspace comes into the picture. Have a few cool

vegetarian sites I need to dig up and post. As far as the slimming

goes, in the four years of being vegan I have actually lost 30lbs. (

well needed) and gone from 38 waist to a 34 waist and I'm sure that my

arteries are in better shape also. :-). Thanks again for the invite. .

Ross.
