I'm an ex-vegetarian. I was a vegetarian from 1989-1995. I've always

been interested in cooking vegetarian food; I love Buddhist cuisine

and have several vegetarian friends.

 

> 5) What is your favourite (vegetarian) food or meal?

 

I lean in the direction on Chinese Buddhist, Indian and Mexican

vegetarian foods because these cuisines have been developed over a

much longer time-scale.

 

> 6) Why did you join the group?

> 7) Is there anything specific you want to get out of the group?

 

I am on a low-carbohydrate diet that I would like to make less

meat-centred so I'm hoping to find ways to develop a diet that is both

low-carb and low-meat.

 

I'm happy to contribute vegetarian recipes I know -- I have a pretty

good repertoire.

 

> 8) Tell us a few of your favourite things.

 

I recently invented a vegetarian sauce I'm very proud of -- it's a

eggplant sauce that is creamy yet dairy-free. It requires three

Chinese eggplants, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, peanut oil and tahini.
