I'd love any recipes that freeze well. I did find a pear loaf

recipe but it's high in calories and fat. That means that it's okay

for the hubby since he NEVER worries about weight, but not for me.

I'd love something similar that I caould keep in the freezer. THANK

YOU!

We have two applecake recipes in the Files - and either one could substitute

pears for apples - and substitute applesauce or pearsauce (?) for the fat.

Wouldn't they also freeze? I haven't tried them, but I will! And I think both

could

be veganized . . .

Best,

Pat ;=)

stef,

i posted a while back a recipe for a fresh apple cake that can

be substituted pears for apples and it would freeze very well. as

far as the fat you can substitute either applesauce for the fat in

equal amounts or puree some of the pears and use that. you could lso

puree some of the pears and pour it into ice cube trays. freeze them

and use them as a fat substitute in your future baking. you could

use that in just aboutanything you bake instead of the butter, oil or

shortening. once tey are frozen in the trays, remove the ice cubes

from thetrays and store in a zip lock bag. they should last for

quite a while. if the pears are quite ripe they should not need any

cooking and puree raw. that way you get more nutrition in your baked

goods as well. as far as a recipe that will freeze well. try the one

i mentioned. it is nice fruity spice cake. i think that is probably

just what you are looking for. if you need me to post it again let

me know. good luck and let me know how you like it.
