Guest guest
I should have added that you might want to look at the links in the Links ;=) section for further info on health and vegetarianism. Of course, we can all eat an *un*healthy vegetarian diet - by consuming junk food, not eating enough vegetables, both raw and cooked, not enough whole grains, not enough blahblah blah blah blah. And to some degree, many of us have been there at some time in our lives. However, a well balanced diet is healthier than an unbalanced diet (as if we didn't know), and the same applies to vegetarians. For those of us who have a few kilos to shed, the best advice I can give - on short order - is to cut down (not exclude) fats/oils, exercise more, avoid refined foods (the so-called white foods - sugar, flour, rice, etc.) in favour of the whole foods (brown rice, wholewheat and wholegrain flours, etc.) and skip the sugars until your weight is where you want it. At the risk of being whipped by a soggy buckwheat noodle, I'd also suggest cutting back on (sweet) fruit and getting your nutrients from vegetables, cutting down on dairy and to a great extent on dairy substitutes, and make sure that you take in around 500 calories less than you 'need' to maintain your weight. There's no magic formula, sad to say, but if you don't lose weight after following these rough and ready 'rules' then, well, you're not really following them but think you are and need to reassess. Sad but true. As for the original query about getting sick easier on a veggie diet, I think that you must know, after some four plus years of vegetarianism, that your ex- boyfriend's pronouncement was simply to stir up trouble? I'd not worry about it or him, if I were you LOL And now back to my what-to-make-for-lunch crisis . . . Seems like it would be more confusing, what with the other nickname. Do you just like to keep all your list mail in separate accounts? It started before gave us more mail space. And before I decided to read my messages on the webpages. And the gf nickname started as a joke. But ya know, I am really really ready to consolidate em all now ;=) Watch this space. (Ahahhh! But which I ask you *which* personality will become *the* personality???? It's The Three Faces of Eve Rides Again!) And yes, I keep list mail separate from other mail ;=) Best, Pat ;=)
