Guest guest
Hi Jamie- NEW YORK! That's why. But I live on the island (long island that is) so there isn't much there, but once you start travelling west towards the city, there's LOTS! There's even a guide to NYC veg restaurants so you know there's lots. The one I went to is in brooklyn where my sister lives and i went to visit her...ok ok i went to get vegan food and visiting her was secondary! lol...here's the website to the place I went. It was my first experience with a vegan restaurant, i had been to one vegetarian restaurant called the candle cafe too but i didn't like the dish i got. I'm a fast food freak so this was a delicious treat. Check it out and look at the MENU!!! For those who don't like meat alternatives, you might not like this, but I enjoyed it very much. I know many vegans don't even like faux meat because it's a reminder of real meat and are sickened by meat altogether, but for me the main thing is the principle. That I'm not contributing to pain and suffering. Anyhow here's the website to the place I went. http://www.foodswings.net The soyburgers were ick. thats the only thing i didn't like -of course my nonveg sister and bf got them and had a bad experience, but everything else that we got was great. ESPECIALLY THE DESSERTS!!! -Rebecca ===== Check out Linus & Lucy's Playground Check out Compassionate Planet Help stop animal cruelty at PETCO stores: Read and sign the petition (email me for more info)
Guest guest
I have thought about opening up my own restaurant or cafe or something of that nature that is why I am interested in what the vegetarian restaurants or 'fast food' stops are offering. I wish that I had that luxury here... well some day I will. If I don't make it happen for myself, I will move some where, where I can be accessible to all of those fun lifestyle pros. Does anyone have good ideas for food to be served? I have looked into vegetarian cooking schools, but I have been unsuccessful on finding one totally vegetarian. One is mostly vegetarian in NYC, called the Natural School of Cookery. They do cook some seafood though,...but I don't know if I could do it,...and even if I could, I would have to at least try it, to see that what I was cooking was good. I dunno. There is something similar in Boulder, CO that looks interesting too, but it is not accredited. I will keep searching. If anyone knows of something that fits what I am looking for please let me know. Thanks JamieRebecca <livecompassionately wrote: Hi Jamie-NEW YORK! That's why.
