Guest guest
Hi Everyone- My name is Rebecca, and I just joined this list, thanks to Pat. I journeyed into the vegan world 4 months ago and boy is there a lot to learn! But I'm doing well, so far. I know that there's so much more I have to learn. I would like to slim down too, and have joined a gym and exercise 4 days a week which has taken care of my couch potato problem, but I really need to get healthy in the eating department. I was following Dr. Joel Fuhrman's diet Eat to Live but I just got so sick of salad that I fell off the diet. It's a 6 week program of eating basically 4 fruits a day, a lb of salad a day, a serving of legumes, a cup of nuts and a lb of vegetables a day. Salad is supposed to be the main dish, but I just have such poor cooking skills and imagination that I couldn't make the salads interesting and could never find a dressing I really liked enough to stick to. SO I'm rambling here, but basically want to learn more about what I can eat, enjoy, be healthy and happy eating! Oh and slimming down is a plus! I do have to admit that Dr. Fuhrman's plan did work for weight loss, but I just can't bear to eat so blandly again. One thing I have a question about is that I have heard about some vegans having to incorporate fish into their diet again because of health problems. What sort of health problem is this and how does eating fish help? Thanks and sorry for the lengthy post, but glad to be here! - Rebecca
