Guest guest
I love soups, and have a few heart favorites that I rely on, especially the Black Bean soup from The Moosewood Restaurant Cooks at Home. The problem with soups, especially thick ones, is that I tend to consume a large quantity of bread at the same time. While unbuttered, it is wholegrain and therefore higher in calorie. It is probably what makes soup so filling and satisfying to me, but it may defeat the "slimming" purpose of eating it. Same with salads, I love them, but mostly for their flavourful dressings. I read somewhere (Vegetarian Times?) that women get the majority of their fat from salad dressing, while men got it from somewhere I forget, but it sure wasn't from anything to do with vegetables.
