Guest guest
I've cut out margarines and things like that. I found that switching to whole butter has worked for me. (I'm not trying to eat a vegan diet though.) I don't use a ton of it because a little seems to go a long way. My big thing now is getting rid of some of my convenience mixes. We do use canola and olive oils -- which I love. And I love to use the olive oil in my breads. Yummm! My BMI teeters right on the edge, but it has come down greatly from what it was. My doctor has recommended having a "fat" measurement, but so far I haven't been willing to pay the expense of it. The biggest thing I try to remind myself is that every few pounds lost can make a big difference in my over all health. Hope everyone is having a great day. Guest guest
Yes, it really helps to go easy on all the fats, doesn't it, and butter might very well, in small quantities, be more satifying to the tastebuds than substitutes. As you say, a little goes a long way ;=) Never had my fat measured or tested :=( I think I know pretty well what it would say and measuring it wouldn't solve that. The only way I know to do the job properly is get my weight down. I have a double motivation, though. I have a slight physical disability and also a mobility difficulty, and the latter is made a lot worse when I am carrying extra weight. Walking is the best exercise for me, for various reasons, so that's what I do to try to keep fit. Now if these ijjits who decide these things in the city would only clean off our sidewalks (I live right in the centre) a little better, I could do more these days *lol* We're due for another 25 to 30 cms of snow tonight - that's nearly a foot to you guys who don't do the metric stuff. My poor little dogs are already running through tunnels of the stuff :=( Best, Pat -- SANTBROWN townhounds/ vegetarianslimming/ HOMEPAGE: http://www.angelfire.com/art/pendragon/ ---------- * " There are too many idiots in this world.
