Guest guest
I think of " white foods " as overly processed. For example: 'white' rice' - all the bran and nutrients are washed-out and bleached) 'white bread' - the flour has nothing of nutritional value to our bodies or mind 'white pasta' - semolina wheat becomes paste with no minerals or vitamins 'white potatoes' - not processed, but sweet potatoes kick-butt in the health/nutrient/vitamin/mineral category salt - definitely a 'no-no.' No need to add it into our diet since most foods contain sodium in it's natural form (vegetables, sea vegetables, etc.) sugar - the biggest 'no-no.' " No " explanation (I hope) needed here. = = = = = = , " Debbie " <tchr@m...> wrote: > >The 'white' foods are banned from... > > What are " White " foods? > > I know I am asking a lot of questions...and sometimes I feel like they are real silly ones...but like I said I am new at vegan eating and cooking....so I will need lots of advice .... > > Debbie in Alaska
Guest guest
Oh ok...so it is what I was thinking...not a problem.....when I started eating brown rice and wild rice I didn't like the taste of them...to me they tasted dirty.....well that was 4 months ago and now the white rice has no flavor at all to it.....so I try not to buy any plain white rice...now I do like the taste of the jasmine rice and some of the others....like....basmati, oops....just looked at my rice stash and found that basmati has a brown rice...I have not tried this one yet....will be in the next rice dish.....gee...maybe I should go through my pantry and see what I have....as for the rice Jasmine and basmati are the only white rice that I have..... Now for flour....what kinds do you use for baking......? Because of the AADD I try to watch my Wheat intake.....and I am allergic to Bananas, Pineapple, and raw tomatoes...I can eat cooked tomatoes.....but not the raw ones...something about the protein in them changing when they are cooked.... Ok enough questions today.... Debbie in Alaska
