Guest guest
After doing all the research for my DH, I was convinced that I really needed to kick the meat and dairy habit, so I once again hit the internet! This time I was on a search for recipes. There were only a few sites that would come up if I searched for low fat vegan recipes. The one site that kept coming up repeatedly was vegsource.com. So I began exploring and found that Dr. McDougall has a discussion board hosted there as does Dr. Pinckney and quite a few other well known experts in the vegan/vegetarian world. I have learned how to make my own bulgur, veggie burgers, seitan, tempeh, soy milk, tofu, and soy yogurt so that the changeover would be easier for all of us. My children follow a mostly vegan diet with the occasional lapses while away from home. They are homeschooled so the lapses aren't everyday occasions. I have tried to make at least 1-2 new vegetable recipes a week. Let the kids pick a new veggie to try each week. We have discovered that my youngest son loves beets and my oldest loves Brussels sprouts. We will be planting a garden in the spring and each of the boys will have their own little area to tend to. As before, feel free to ask any questions!! Ann
