Guest guest
Hi Pat, I like to believe you're right that most of us take a true " compassion for all " attitude (including compassion toward people who don't share our beliefs or practices concerning food sources). But I've met some pretty judgmental folks on both sides of the fence...both carnivore and vegetarian.... & I believe when this happens, walls begin to go up & possibilities for communication begin to disolve. I got a chuckle out of your comment concerning the weight loss & crumbs on the computer....it really hit home :-) As I've gotten older, I've found the weight is a little more stubborn about wanting to hang around than it was when I was in my 20's & 30's. I'm getting there, but still have some to shed....right now I'm trying to concentrate on getting through the holidays without a lot of damage. Guest guest
I'm afraid that's my experience too - despite my earlier post on the subject. I think the 'we' and 'most of us' in my sentence referred, in my mind at least, to the 'we' of this group, not the whole veggie world - and perhaps I shouldn't make assumptions about all of us either. I am not myself feeling particularly tolerant and non-judgmental this morning - in fact I'm feeling definitely cranky about the idjits *lol* Best, Pat > I like to believe you're right that most of us take a > true " compassion for all " attitude (including compassion toward > people who don't share our beliefs or practices concerning food > sources). Guest guest
'Stubborn' weight? Aint it the truth!!! *lol* And that's another reason I'm feeling cranky this morning - somehow I seem to have gained half a kilo. Okay so maybe it's a result of a little too much salt in my restaurant meal last evening - but I wouldn't give myself an excuse and discount it if I'd *lost* half a kilo. Grump! I do believe you're dead right to concentrate on getting through the holidays without what you call 'a lot of damage'. There's little point in going on a regime that makes one unhappy over the holidays - they're stressful enough without that, and stress tempts many of us to forget our good health practices. Me, anyway. I'm planning to add a little more exercise - burns off the calories, tones up the old bod, and keeps up the spirits ;=) It probably means my beagles will get an extra recreational walk, which they'll love! Best, Pat P.S. See any crumbs in the email this morning? No? That's because I'm cutting out nibbles - again, again, again. Siggghhhh. > I got a chuckle out of your comment concerning the weight loss & > crumbs on the computer....it really hit home :-) As I've gotten > older, I've found the weight is a little more stubborn about wanting > to hang around than it was when I was in my 20's & 30's.
