Guest guest
I'm just sick of the whole Atkins, South Beach diet craze. It is causing a wealth of misinformation concerning nutrition and the proper way to lose weight. Ppl actually believe it is somehow healthy to up your intake of foods loaded with saturated fat and cholesterol and practically banish eating whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. What's wild to me, is it just seems to make common sense that such diets would be unhealthy... Luving my carbs, karen
Guest guest
I dislike diet crazes too - and I seriously worry about all the people who wreck their bodies through rigorous dieting. Of course, something tells the Atkins faddists that all that protein and fat to the virtual exclusion of nearly all other foods can't be good for them, but they can fall back on 'the doctor said it was healthy' - like so many people. An authority figure can be sooooo useful *lol* I admit, I'd like a magic bullet too - but I want one that won't endanger my health ;=) As for me, I need to lose a little more weight. Oh - be honest! - I'd like to lose something like 12 kgs or a bit over 26 pounds or just under two stone (that cover everyone's way of measuring???). I'd be delighted with half that ;=) And I'm going to do it by watching the excess fat/oils (cutting them down, not out), excess carbs (that *extra* helping of rice or what have you), and by munching carrots, celery, etc. instead of extra fruit. (I gave up eggs and dairy earlier this year, so no cheese.) So I am not going to listen to any Atkins propaganda (*everyone's* talking it up) because it makes me think, just a little bit on just the odd occasion, that of course if *only* I didn't eat all these veggies . .. . - you know what I mean? *lol* Besides, I love em!
