Guest guest
Hi there, This is just a short note to say " hi " and to come out of lurking really. My name is Ju - short form of Judith - nearly 39 and live in Kent - the South East corner of England. Many years ago I was a vegetarian for some years - my mother and father became interested in wholefoods - based on health and nutrition and then just cut out the meat that we were eating - but seeing we had little meat this was not a hardship. I lapsed into eating meet when money was so tight it was either to eat a meat sandwich that someone was giving me - or to go hungry for another day. Most of the time when food was under my control my diet was mainly vegetarian. that is my history... Because of many things - too complicated to go into at the moment - I have had to have a long hard look at my life - and have recently become a vegan. Seeing that I live alone (young, free and single!) and have to buy my own food this is not as hard as it might be for other people.... if I have only vegan food in the house then this is all I can eat... I personally feel that becoming vegan is right for me - health as well as many other aspects. Being the type of lass who will read around any subject I have started reading some animal right's books - and my conviction about food really gets stronger with every page I read. I know animals have feelings - if my dog saw me raise a hand to her she would cower, when she sniffs her food she is delighted and wags her tail... How can we exploit and treat animals in such a way??? Anyway - enough of me - just thought you would appreciate knowing who I am and where I am coming from.
