Has anyone else had this problem?" I have a similar problem with my thighs! Whenever i lose weight it comes off my ribs, even though i don't have much there anyway, and not my thighs or my rear (to put it politely!). :-) I am thinking that I won't lose inches until I lose a lot of weight but could it be that I am losing muscle and not fat so that is why there is no change?"What method are you using to lose the weight Michael? It could be that you need to do some exercises to target the specific areas you want to lose weight from. Speaking to a physiotherapist friend of mine when i was having trouble with this, he suggested doing a light cardio aerobic routine to warm up the body and then concentrating energy on doing exercises to work the problem areas. So in your case it would be stomach crunches, sit ups, and diagonal sit ups (not sure what they are called but they work the obligue abdominal muscles) etc. Also, what sort of diet are you followng? What kinds of foods are you eating? If you are consuming too few calories, your body thinks it is being starved and so holds on to the fat and burns muscle instead, this in turn also slows down your metabolism so you may lose weight slower. Depending on how many calories you are consuming, and whether this could be a possibility, maybe you could consider upping your calorie intake slightly? Hope this helps, and congratulations on your weight loss so far! Good Luck, Laura Plus - For a better Internet experience
