Guest guest
"6) Why did you join the group? I've cooked some vegatarian food before, but most of it doesn't taste all that great. I was hoping I could get some good recipes. I could also use some advice on converting from a meat diet to a meatless diet." First of all welcome to the group Janice. Its good to have ypou here and i hope we can all help out. For recipes, there are alot of sites out there with really great recipes, plus of course our files, and those of other veggie recipe groups. The Feral Vegetarian group is esp good! If there is ever a specific recipe you are after, feel free to ask for it here, and i, and other group members will do our best to help out with your request. Obviously, here the recipes are healthy in nature, but we can always look for healthy alternatives to traditionally unhealthy recipes. What kind of foods do you enjoy? Maybe if you let us know some of the recipes with meat in you enjoy we could find an alternative. Some people prefer to cook like that, others would rather not attempt to copy meat recipes. It really is an individual thing. Personally i go for a mix of both. Which veggie meals did you cook before? Maybe we can help you out with where it went wrong. The best advice i can give about converting is to make it exciting! There is a huge amount of delicious veggie food and recipes out there just waiting to be discovered. Some advice i received when converting to a vegan diet was to make it like a hobby, and i found that view has really worked for me. I look on each meal as a challenge to experiment with ingredients and come up with something a bit different. So Good Luck with your journey and i hope we are able to help! We got food poisoning last week, so we're both really to get away from so much meat. I like to use the fake meatas a substitute, but it's so expensive!
