Crockpots? George Foreman?

I hadn't heard from anyone on here in a while???....

I was wondering.... Does anyone on here have any recipes for crockpots (slowcookers) or for the George Foreman grill? I have recently acquired both of these appliances and thought that some of you may have tried and true recipes for them. the foreman was a gift but the crockpot I bought a weekend or so ago (on sale! ;) ). I think that both will be great for during the summer - I don't have air conditioning and using the stove or oven really heats up the apartment a bit too much. So far I have just done a few veggies on the foreman and have only used the crockpot once - haven't been shopping in a bit so I don't have anything to put in the pot! I have searched around for recipes for both appliances but thought you all might have some favorites.

I'm excited to hear if you have anything!

Allison,

I have made this for my family several times. You can change up the

seasonings as you like, I'd make it by the recipe the first time to

get a feel for it. If you double it (as I do) don't double up on the

vinegar as it gets to acidic. Good luck - I'll try and find some

more that we like.

WHEAT ROAST

2 cups gluten flour

1/4 cup peanut butter or tahini

2 tbs nutritional yeast

2 tsp cumin powder

1 tsp ground coriander

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 cup water

3 tbs tamari (or soy sauce)

1 tbs vegetable oil

1 1/4 cup additional water/broth

1/4 cup cider vinegar

1 tbs dairy-free margarine

1-2 cloves garlic, sliced

Cut peanut butter or tahini into gluten flour (as you

would shortening in corn meal).

Stir in nutritional yeast, cumin powder, coriander, garlic

powder, onion powder, salt and pepper, mixing well.

Add tamari and oil to one cup of water and pour into gluten

mix. Knead into a rough ball and place into a slow cooker

(crock pot) that has been sprayed with non-stick spray.

Mix additional water or broth (1 & 1/4 cup) and cider vinegar and

pour over gluten. You can add about a tbs of tamari or liquid smoke

to add a bit of additional flavor.

Top gluten ball with margarine and garlic slices.

Cook in slow cooker on low setting for 5-7 hours.

Slice thinly and use as you would roast beef.

Note: If you have left overs be sure to store it in the broth or it

will dry out.
