Guest guest
Hello all, Here are some weight loss tips from both celebrities and normal people which i found in one of the mini books i have on the subject... 1. When the TV commercials come on, get up and do something. Go upstairs for something, wash up, dry up, put the washing on, walk the dog for 2 minutes, potter around the garden. All exercise counts - Rosemary Conley, diet guru 2. Whatever you have for dinner make sure that half of your plate is full of vegetables (not so hard for us veggies!) 3. Fill a tupperware box with salad and carry it everywhere with you to arm yourself against junk snack temptation (not so practical?) 4. Keep as few ready to eat foods around as possible. Store them on a high shelf out of sight. 5. Next time you feel like eating, ask yourself " how hungry am i on a scale of 1-10? " If its less than a 6 go and do something else instead. - Pete Cohen, slimming coach 6. Don't feel guilty if you go out for dinner or have pudding after your main meal. weight control is about balance: if you over-indulge one day, simply make up for it the next. 7. Get a calorie counter book and pick out some little 150 calorie treats for when you fancy something sweet. 8. Stop eating take aways and ready meals and start cooking dishes from scratch using calorie controlled recipes. They're healthier and they taste better too! 9. Don't be fooled by marketing ploys. Learn to read food labels carefully. Low fat may men high sugar and lots of sugar is as inappropriate as lots of fat in a weight loss programme - Ian Marber, the food doctor 10. Do you get home from work and head straight for a glass of wine or vodka and tonic? Instead have a bath or shower and wash away the accumulated stress and make sure you feel more relaxed before you approach the fridge or drinks cabinet - Ed Victor, author of The Obvious Diet. I think stress and our emotions do have a lot to do with the way we eat and i know i'm guilty of eating something stodgy when i should be trying to chill myself out. So does anyone have any tips on ways to relax to share with the group? Wishing you a relaxing evening, Laura ----------- Take a look at my : My online diary is at: http://laurakate01.diaryland.com/ ----------- " A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral. " - Leo Tolstoy (1828-1910) ----------- _______________ Overloaded with spam?
