Guest guest
I have to admit that I think this is a little silly. We are very sue- happy in this country. Are big corporations liars?! Doesn't surprise me!! I think we are just better off to not eat at McDonald's. We have to take some responsibility for the things we are putting in our mouths. God/dess knows what is in that " food " !! Being vegetarian is a great start, but I think we also have to realize that if its a processed food, there really is no telling what the heck is in it. Why wouldn't McDonald's lie, the government lies! Did you know that frozen vegetables can be genetically altered and they don't even have to say so on the label? Did you know that MSG can be listed as " Natural flavorings " on a food label? That is absurd!! If you are allergic, it could kill you! Whole foods, preferrably organic, hopefully by a farm/company you can trust....it really is a bit sad when you think about it. Hey, I know a good recipe for french fries, but they are not low-fat...LOL! BB. Laura H
Guest guest
> I have to admit that I think this is a little silly. > It isn't silly to those people whose religious convictions prohibit them from eating beef or beef fat. McDonald's said there *was* no beef or beef fat in the fries, but there was. They lied and people sued. I too think we are on this continent far too litiginous, but the fact is that McDonald's and other organizations like them also have to have some responsibility. Deliberate deception of consumers is not the way to go. The fact that others do it does not mean that McDonald's shouldn't have to be accountable for what they do. The fact is that they *were* held accountable for this deception, which affected many lives, and now they are trying to get out of the court decision - and in an offensive anti-vegetarian way. As for responsibility of the consumer, the consumer had inquired about beef in french fries and had been reassured, remember. As for other additives in foods, etc., I agree with you. But that's a whole 'nother issue :=( Oh damn McDonald's and all their works! Please oh please send your recipe for non-low-fat french fries immediately, Laura H - I need a good laugh :=) best, pat > > I have to admit that I think this is a little silly. Guest guest
This really does disgust me. I could understand it if McDonald's didn't realise they were doing anything wrong and no one had asked. But to deliberately lie to the consumer is very very wrong and i hope the judge sees sense and gives them hell for going back on their word. Well, i occasionally ate at fast food places, but from now on i'm not risking it... in any of them. I just hope over the next few years more people realise how deceptive and manipulative they are.
