Guest guest
Mind Over Matter Have you ever noticed how good things happen to those who remain optimistic, even when life seems to be delivering some cruel blows. Sooner or later, good things start to happen again. Its not a coincidence that positive people are often successful in life – they create their own good luck with a good mental attitude. We can learn from people like that. Try the following tricks for starters. 1. Believe in yourself and you'll achieve what you desire. If you spend all your time thinking negatively about yourself, you'll find it hard to get anywhere. Ask yourself how you know its true? Once you believe you can be slimmer, you'll be ready to take the next step – actually becoming slimmer. 2. Congratulate yourself whenever you achieve something, however small. It doesn't have to be related to actual weight loss results – you might have just waved a plate of biscuits away, or motivated yourself to exercise for 20 minutes. The fact is, all those things count towards your final goal. Learn to recognise them for the achievements they really are. 3. Visualise yourself the way your going to be when you're at your goal. Think about what you'll be doing, where you'll be, what you'll be wearing. Look at the expression on your face and how you'll feel. Allow yourself to daydream as often as you like. 4. Write down your goals when you make the decision to change your lifestyle for the better and keep revisiting them over and over again. Its important to keep reminding yourself why you want to be slimmer, healthier and fitter rather than allow yourself to get bogged down with the process of getting there. 5. Focus on your strengths rather than your perceived weaknesses. A good exercise is to write a list of all the things that you like about yourself. They could be things that people have told you in the past – that you're a good listener or you have a great laugh – or private thoughts that you have about yourself. Keep the list with you at all times and revisit it at least once a day. (taken from Zest Magazine (uk), slimming diary 2002) now, all say together " i believe in the power of positive thought! Guest guest
That's wonderful stuff, Laura UK. My mentor once said, " Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're probably right. " So, I say, think it, ink it, and link it into your life.
