Tofu Mushroom Sauce

1 pound tofu -- cubed or crumbled

1/2 pound small mushrooms

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon basil

1 tablespoon oil

15 ounces canned tomato sauce

 

(Serves 5)

 

Sauté tofu and mushrooms with spices in oil for 5 minutes. Add sauce and

continue heating 5 minutes longer. Serve hot over your favorite cooked pasta.

 

Total calories per serving: 134, total fat as % of daily value: 12%,

Protein: 10gm, carbohydrates: 11gm, fat:8gm, Calcium: 113mg, iron: 6mg,

sodium 572mg, dietary fiber 8gm,
