Guest guest Posted April 30, 2001 Report Share Posted April 30, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * INSIDE-OUT TRIPLE GREEN ROLL Recipe By :Robin Asbell Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Small bites and Sides Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 12 spears asparagus -- bottoms trimmed 6 sheets nori 1 recipe Brown Sushi Rice 2 small avocados -- pitted and thinly sliced 6 scallions -- cleaned and trimmed 6 teaspoons black sesame seeds 1. Set a large pot of water to boil. Blanch asparagus in boiling water for 1 to 2 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain, and rinse under cold water to cool. Set aside. 2. Place a sheet of nori on a small cut- ting board, long edge toward you. Place slightly more than 3/4 cup rice on nori sheet. Using moistened fingertips, pat rice to cover nori as evenly as possible. Place plastic-covered sushi mat over rice. Turn cutting board, mat, nori, and rice over so that cutting board is on top. Remove cutting board. 3. Along the near edge of nori, place a row of avocado slices (using about 1/6 of total). Next to that, lay 2 asparagus spears and a scallion. 4. Holding mat, rice, nori, and fillings together, roll away from you, jelly-roll fashion, using firm and even pressure while keeping mat free of the roll. 5. On a large flat plate, spread 1 tea- spoon of the sesame seeds in an even layer. Coat roll with sesame seeds. Repeat with remaining nori and fillings. Let stand for 2 to 5 minutes, then cut each roll into 6 or 8 pieces.
