Asian-Style Marinade for Basting and Marinating

1/2 cup rice vinegar

1 tablespoon light sesame oil

1/4 cup honey

1 garlic clove -- crushed

1 2-inch piece fresh ginger -- peeled and grated

1/4 cup pineapple juice

2 to 2 1/2 pounds prepared vegetables*

 

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the rice vinegar, sesame oil, honey,

garlic, ginger, and pineapple juice.

 

For marinating, place the mixture in a large glass bowl and add the vegetables.

 

For basting, brush the marinade directly onto the vegetables before and during

grilling.

 

*Many vegetables need to be blanched (or precooked) before grilling.

 

Description:

" Sweet and tangy, this marinade is made for asparagus, beets,

broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and tofu. "
