Guest guest Posted April 10, 2001 Report Share Posted April 10, 2001 I can't remember where, but back when I was mispronouncing seitan, I saw the pronunciation as " say-tahn " (in case anyone wonders) * Exported from MasterCook * Seitan with Four Peppers Recipe By :Robin Robertson, 366 Healthful Ways to Cook Tofu and other Meat Alternatives Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 tablespoons olive oil 1 jalapeno -- seeded and minced 1 green bell pepper -- seeded and cut into 1/4-inch strips 1 red bell pepper -- seeded and cut into 1/4-inch strips 1 yellow bell pepper -- seeded and cut into 1/4-inch strips salt 1 pound seitan -- cut into 1/4-inch slices freshly ground black pepper 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley Heat 2 tablespoons of the oiil in a large skillet over low heat. Add jalapeno, bell peppers, and a pinch of salt and cook until tender, stirring frequently, about 15 minutes. Sprinkle seitan with salt and pepper. Heat remaing 2 tablespoons olive oil in another large skillet over medium-high heat. Add seitan and cook until brown, about 2 minutes on each side. Reheat peppers over low heat, stirring constantly. On the dinner pplates, spoon peppers around seitan. Sprinkle with parsley and serve. Description: " A plethora of peppers will wake up your taste buds in this zesty, colorful saute.
