I think I got this recipe from Veg-Recipes last week. I tried it and it was

pretty good. A bit dry but otherwise yummy. Here is the recipe with my

adaptations.

Onion Matzoh " Biscuits "

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 tbsp vegetable oil

1 onion -- finely chopped

1/4 cup vegetable oil

1 cup boiling water

2 cups matzoh meal

1/2 cup egg substitute

1 egg white -- beaten

1 tsp kosher salt

1 tsp dried dill -- or 1 tbsp fresh

2 tsp Charnushka (black onion seeds)

 

Preheat oven to 350°F.

 

Heat 1 tbsp oil in small skillet. Add the onion and saute, stirring

frequently, until light brown. Remove from heat. Set aside.

 

In a large mixing bowl, add boiling water and 1/4 cup oil. Stir in matzoh

meal, a little at a time, until combined well. Stir in the egg substitute,

followed by the cooked onions and the rest of the ingredients.

 

Using an ice cream scoop, scoop out small balls of batter. Place them on a

greased baking sheet or two. Flatten them slightly with a spatula. Bake for

20-25 minutes or until golden.

 

Cool on a rack. Serve warm.

 

Store any leftovers in a tightly sealed plastic container.

 

Nutritional information per biscuit: 75 calories, 8g carbo, 3g total fat,

20g chol, 2g Protein, and 111mg sodium.
