Guest guest
I think I got this recipe from Veg-Recipes last week. I tried it and it was pretty good. A bit dry but otherwise yummy. Here is the recipe with my adaptations. * Exported from MasterCook * Onion Matzoh " Biscuits " Recipe By : RisaG Serving Size : 14 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Holiday Onions Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 tbsp vegetable oil 1 onion -- finely chopped 1/4 cup vegetable oil 1 cup boiling water 2 cups matzoh meal 1/2 cup egg substitute 1 egg white -- beaten 1 tsp kosher salt 1 tsp dried dill -- or 1 tbsp fresh 2 tsp Charnushka (black onion seeds) Preheat oven to 350°F. Heat 1 tbsp oil in small skillet. Add the onion and saute, stirring frequently, until light brown. Remove from heat. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, add boiling water and 1/4 cup oil. Stir in matzoh meal, a little at a time, until combined well. Stir in the egg substitute, followed by the cooked onions and the rest of the ingredients. Using an ice cream scoop, scoop out small balls of batter. Place them on a greased baking sheet or two. Flatten them slightly with a spatula. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden. Cool on a rack.
