Creamy Pasta Sauce

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1 1/2 cups cold water

1 10.5 oz package reduced-fat extra-firm silken tofu

or

1/2 pound reduced-fat medium-firm or firm regular

tofu

1/4 cup dry white wine

or

3 tablespoons water and 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar or

lemon juice

1/3 cup nutritional yeast flakes

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1 1/2 tablespoons chicken-style broth powder

2 teaspoons salt

2 teaspoons garlic granules

2 1/2 tablespoons sesame meal (optional)

1 1/2 cups hot or boiling water

 

Combine everything except the water in a blender and process until well

mixed. When smooth, add the water and blend again. Pour into a heavy saucepan,

and stir over high heat constantly until it comes to a boil. Turn the heat down

and simmer on low for a few minutes.
