Guest guest Posted April 3, 2001 Report Share Posted April 3, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Tofu Ribs Recipe By : The High Road to Health by Wagner and Spade, page 147 Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Main Dishes, Vegetarian Soyfoods Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 pound Marinated Tofu (see separate recipe) 2 tablespoons cold-pressed vegetable oil 8 bamboo skewers Barbecue Sauce (see separate recipe) Serves four These are a tasty treat as an appetizer or as part of the main course. They go especially well as part of a Chinese meal. 1. Preheat the oven to 300F. 2. Cut the marinated tofu slices lengthwise into three strips per slice. 3. Brush the tofu slices on all sides with oil and lay them, side by side, in a dish. The slices should not touch. Bake for 40 minutes. 4. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes. Pass bamboo skewers carefully through the width of each slice. Five to six slices will fit onto one skewer without touching. Cover with barbecue sauce and preheat the broiler. 5. Broil 6 inches from the heat for about 5 minutes, turn over, and repeat.
