Guest guest Posted April 1, 2001 Report Share Posted April 1, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Barbecue Sauce Recipe By : The High Road to Health by Wagner and Spade, page 144 Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Sauces And Marinades Vegetables Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 teaspoon cold-pressed olive oil 1/2 onion -- chopped 1/2 cup tomato paste 1/2 cup apple juice 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon black pepper -- ground 1/2 clove garlic -- chopped 1/4 teaspoon paprika 2 tablespoons natural soy sauce 1/4 cup vinegar 1 tablespoon honey Makes about 1 1/4 cups. 1. Heat the oil in a saucepan. Add the onions and cook, covered, until they are golden. 2. Combine the tomato paste and apple juice and blend well. Add this and all remaining ingredients, except the honey, to the onions. Simmer for 20 minutes. If it gets too thick add a little water. The sauce should be think at the end of the cooking time. 3.
