Guest guest Posted March 27, 2001 Report Share Posted March 27, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Barbecued Tofu Recipe By :Vegetarian Planet - Didi Emmons Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 pounds extra-firm tofu 2 teaspoons salt 2 tablespoons sugar 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon cayenne 1 tablespoon chili powder 2 tablespoons paprika 1 cup apple cider vinegar 2 large garlic cloves -- minced Preheat the oven to 300F. Cut the tofu into 1/4-inch cubes. Combine the tofu with the rest of the ingredients in a bowl, and stir well. Place the tofu and its marinade in a large low-sided roasting pan, and bake it in the oven for 1 hour. Toss the tofu once or twice during the baking. Serve it hot. Description: " Although it is baked in the oven, this tofu cooks slowly, like real barbecue.
