Low fat Makes: 2 cups; serves. 4 Garbanzo beans are just another name for chickpeas. 1. In a 1 1/2-quart saucepan, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the garlic; cook 10 seconds. Add the escarole; cook, stirring, until softened, about 2 minutes. Add the beans and broth. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.
