Guest guest Posted March 22, 2001 Report Share Posted March 22, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Broccoli Rabe and Tempeh in Garlic Sauce Recipe By : Serving Size : 6 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Main Dishes Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 16 ounces plain tempeh, cubed 1 tablespoon olive oil 1/2 cup sliced red onion 4 cloves garlic, minced 4 cups broccoli rabe, trimmed and chopped, tough stems discarded 1 red bell pepper, cored and diced 1 1/4 cups plain soy milk 2 tablespoons arrowroot or cornstarch 1/2 teaspoon white pepper salt, to taste In a medium skillet over medium heat, saute tempeh in oil until golden, about 4 minutes. Add onion and garlic and saute 1 minute. Stir in broccoli rabe and bell pepper and saute 2 to 3 minutes, until broccoli rabe is tender-crisp. In a small bowl, combine soy milk, arrowroot or cornstarch, and white pepper, blending until smooth. Stir into tempeh mixture. Heat, stirring constantly, until thick and bubbly. Add salt to taste.
