Guest guest Posted February 21, 2001 Report Share Posted February 21, 2001 * Exported from MasterCook * Goulash Recipe By : Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil 1 cup chopped onion 2 cloves garlic -- minced 3 cups sliced fresh mushrooms 1 pound beef substitute (tofu, tempeh, seitan, rehydrated TVP, etc) -- cut into cubes* 1 can kidney beans -- rinsed and drained 2 cups tomato juice 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon paprika 1 pinch ground cloves salt and pepper 3 tablespoons flour 1/4 cup water In a frying pan, heat oil. Add onion, and saute` until golden. Add mushrooms, and saute` briefly. Add beef sub, and saute` briefly. Add garlic, and saute` briefly. Add 1 cup tomato juice. Cover, and cook 10 minutes, stirring several times. Add remaining ingredients, except flour and water. Cover, and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes. Mix flour and water until smooth, then stir into pan and cook for 5 minutes. Serve over hot, cooked noodles.
