In case you're wondering what this ingredient is: Sometimes called sesame

salt, gomasio contains toasted sesame seeds and

sea salt. It is available in health food stores.

And just so none of you will embarrass yourselves by misprounoucing it the

way *I* did - it's pronounced goh-mah-shee-oh. There are no accented

syllables in Japanese, so don't worry about that. You just need that

" shee " sound in there. There is no " see " sound in Japanese, and the

romanized spelling of " gomasio " is the old version, which assumed that

everyone who needed to know this would know it from studying the language.

There is a new romanization used in Japan now - it would be spelled

" gomashio " in the current usage.
