Garlic-Braised Broccoli

2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

3 garlic cloves -- minced

1/2 pound broccoli (1/2 large head or 1 small head) -- cut into

florets

salt

 

Warm the oil and garlic in a medium skiller oveer medium heat until the oil is

shimmering and the garlic barely starts to color. Add the broccoli and stir for

a minute or two until it is heated through.

 

Add 1/4 cup water to the skillet. Cover the skillet and cook for about 2

minutes, until the broccoli is crisp-tender and bright green. Sprinkle with

salt.
