Guest guest Posted February 2, 2001 Report Share Posted February 2, 2001 I'm thinking shiitake burger would go well in this recipe. * Exported from MasterCook * Tempeh Herb Pasta Recipe By :Maureen Keane and Daniella Chace 1997 Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : 2Try Pasta Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 2 tablespoons sesame oil 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil -- divided 1 tablespoon dried rosemary 1 teaspoon tarragon 1/4 cup finely chopped yellow onion 2 cloves garlic -- sliced 2 1/2 cups water 3 tablespoons miso 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh basil 1/2 pound tempeh -- chopped (1-cup 1/2-inch pieces) 1 tablespoon tamari or light soy sauce 2 cups hot cooked pasta of choice 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese Heat the sesame oil and 2 tablespoons of the olive oil in a saucepan. Add rosemary, tarragon, onion, and garlic and saute over medium heat until onion is translucent Add water and miso and simmer for 2 minutes. Add parsley and basil, stir, and set aside. In a separate pan, heat the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add tempeh and tamari. Saute over medium heat until the tempeh is browned. Toss sauce and tempeh into pasta, sprinkle the top of each dish with grated Parmesan, and serve.
