Herb Dumplings

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup yellow cornmeal

1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon dried sage leaves

1/4 teaspoon dried thyme leaves

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons vegetable shortening

1/2 cup skim milk

 

1. Combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sage, thyme, and salt in medium

bowl. Cut in shortening with pastry blender or 2 knives until mixture

resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in milk.
