Guest guest Posted January 29, 2001 Report Share Posted January 29, 2001 Sounds like a good one for Valentine's Day- * Exported from MasterCook * Chocolate Soy Hearts with Cashew Soy Cream Frosting Recipe By :Soy Desserts - Patricia Greenberg Serving Size : 10 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour 1/2 cup soy flour 1 tablespoon baking soda 1 cup sugar or light granulated cane juice 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 1/2 cups whole soy milk 1 tablespoon soybean oil 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 3-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter 3/4 cup Cashew Soy Cream Frostinf 1/2 cup cashews, for garnish Preheat the oven to 350F and grease two 8-inch square cake pans. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl, combine thw whole wheat pastry flour, soy flour, baking soda, sugar, and cocoa. Mix well and set aside. In a seperate bowl, combine the soy milk, soybean oil, and vanilla. Pour this mixture into the flour mixture, stirring with a wire whisk until well combined. Pour the batter into the greased pans and bake for 25 minutes, or until the cake springs back when lightly touched. Cool completely. Invert the cakes onto the cookie sheet. With the heart-shaped cookie cutter, cut out 10 cakes, 5 from each pan. Frost each heart with the Cashew Soy Cream Frosting, and garnish each one with 3 whole cashews. After frosting, these hearts will keep, wrapped, iin the refrigerator for 2 days. Description: " These beautiful heart-shaped delicacies are perfect for a Valentine's Day surprise.
