OR 16-oz. package frozen cut green beans 1 tablespoon margarine 1 medium red or yellow pepper -- cut into strips 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder -- (optional) Salt to taste -- (optional) Pepper to taste 2 tablespoons chopped parsley * (If using granules, dissolve according to package directions.) Makes 8 servings This recipe takes 10 minutes to prepare and 20 minutes to cook. If using fresh green beans, wash the beans in cold water and snip off the end. In a medium saucepan bring broth to a boil; add beans and cover. Cook over medium heat for 8 to 12 minutes. (If using frozen beans, time according to packaged directions.) Meanwhile, melt margarine in small skillet, then add the pepper strips. Sprinkle in the garlic powder, if using. Stir and cook until crisp-tender, about 6 minutes. Drain the green beans. In a serving bowl, add the cooked beans and pepper strips; toss. Season with salt (if using) and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with the chopped parsley.
