Suggested timetable. Same day, morning: • Prepare and marinate the vegetables for the Antipasto. • Assemble the Artichoke Pie, cover and refrigerate until later. • Make the fillings for Double-crust Layered Pizza. Cover and store them separately, refrigerated. • Make and bake the Italian Chocolate Nut Cookies. Starting 2 1/2 hours before serving: • Make the pizza dough. • Prepare the broccoli rabe or broccoli for Sautéed Broccoli Rabe. Place in a covered container and leave at room temperature until needed. • Arrange the vegetables and cheeses for the Antipasto on a large serving platter. Cover securely with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Starting 1 1/2 hours before serving: • Bake the Artichoke Pie. • Assemble the Double-crust Layered Pizza. • Make the Spaghetti Aglia Olio. • Make the Sautéed Broccoli Rabe. During the meal: • While serving the Antipasto, bake the pizza. • Heat the Spaghetti Aglia Olio and the Sautéed Broccoli Rabe, if needed. I liked the idea of including a rather unexpected menu and found a gem in this one from southern Italy Andy Frisari, owner and chef at Cafe Veronica in Manhattan's garment district, and his brother Vincent, who works along- side him, shared their memories and recipes from their boyhoods in the Bari region of southern Italy.
