Italian Fresh Fruit Salad

1 apple

1 pear

1 peach

2 cups assorted fruit (apricots, nectarines,

plums, cherries, grapes, melon, berries)

3/4 cup orange juice

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon lemon zest

few grains sea salt

 

1. Cut fruit into small bite-size pieces. Gently mix all ingredients

in a large bowl.

 

2. Marinate at cool room temperature or in the refrigerator for

several hours to overnight, mixing a couple of times.

 

Variation: Lightly toasted waluts, almonds, and/or pine nuts, as well

as raisins may be added as other authentic recipe ingredients. Add

nuts before serving to preserve crunch.

NOTES : I love the name of this dessert in Italian (note that " c " is

pronounced " ch " when it precedes " e " ) - macedonia di frutta fresca.
