Apple Eggnog Bread (ABM)

BREAD INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup canned or dairy eggnog

1/4 cup water

1/2 cup chopped peeled cored apple

1 large egg

2 tablespoons margarine or butter -- cut up

1/4 teaspoon rum extract

2 tablespoons sugar

3/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast -- or

bread machine yeast

EGGNOG GLAZE:

1 Cup powdered sugar

1 tablespoon eggnog -- possibly more

 

Add all bread ingredients to the pan in order recommended by manufacturer

of your machine. Select loaf size and the basic white bread cycle.

 

EGGNOG GLAZE: In a small bowl stir together 1 cup sifted powdered sugar

and enough canned or dairy eggnog (1 to 2 tbs) to make a glaze of

drizzling consistency.

 

TIP : If you re-scale the recipe for a 2-pound loaf, do not increase the water

or the egg.
