Drain the rice in a strainer. Bring the water and salt to a boil. Add the wild rice, reduce heat, and simmer, partially covered, until tender. This will take anywhere from 40 to 60 minutes. Remove from heat and let the rice stand, covered, for 10 minutes to absorb any remaining liquid.
