Hi, Miriam. how to move recipes depends on which version of mc you are using.

mc5/6 book to masterlist

--------------------

open the masterlist and arrange the listing so that you have the cookbook titles

listed down the right column/panel. scroll if needed to make the name of the

TARGET book visible in that righthand panel

open a cookbook and select the recipes you want to move. (do you know about

control+click to select more than one title?)

drag the recipes from the book to the cookbook title in the masterlist.

close the masterlist or return the focus to the cookbook (by clicking once on

the books title bar (the colored one on top). delete the recipes in the open

book

mc5/6 Search results to masterlist:

-----------------------------

same as above but move FOUND recipes to the book.

or - open the masterlist

select FILE from the masterlist's menu and select OPEN NEW MASTERLIST

ARRANGE the lists to that you can drag recipes from one list to another so long

as you are dragging from one book into a different book - this works.

any version: Export recipes to a file and import them to the new book

---------------------------

select recipes from the book. use export, file, select mx5 format , name the

file, and export the recipes. export more recipes to the same file? easy. just

remember the file's name, use it again and tell mc you want to APPEND recipes to

the existing file. delete the recipes.

use import: select the target book. import from the file.

--------------------

any version: COPY RECIPES, paste recipes

-------------------------------

select recipes . select EDIT from the menu, COPY SELECTED RECIPE(S)

Don't exceed about 32 recipes at a time. I usually use this for one recipe at a

time.

open the TARGET BOOK. select EDIT from the menu, PASTE RECIPES.

if that choice, paste recipes, is dimmed, then something about the copy recipes

didn't work. Try copying fewer recipes - or just one to see how it works.

delete the recipes in the other book.

OPEN A SECOND WINDOW mc5/6

open the other book so there are two books - any version

----------------------------

open cookbook

Select FILE from the menu, select NEW WINDOW

arrange windows so that you can see the browser views.

set up the target book in the new window. drag and drop recipes between books.

this still COPIES - go back and delete the recipes.
