Pita bread makes delicious wedge-shaped croutons when toasted and lightly seasoned with garlic powder. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Cut each round of pita bread into 4 equal wedges. Place wedges on large nonstick baking sheet. Bake until golden and crisp, about 12 to 15 minutes. Open each toasted wedge into 2 croutons. Dust lightly with garlic powder and salt. Nutrition information per serving, using no salt: Calories 41, Carbohydrates 8 g, Protein 1 1/2 g, Fat 0 g, including sat. fat 0 g, Cholesterol 0 mg, Sodium 80 mg, Calcium 2 mg, Dietary fiber 1 g.
