Fortunately it calls for canned tomatoes so I don't have to wait for summer to try this. Ellen * Exported from MasterCook Mac * Mario's Hot Sauce Recipe By : Cookin' Southern Vegetarian Style, Ann Jackson p73 Serving Size : 1 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Sauces & Gravies Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 1 cucumber 3 jalapenos -- to 8 - depending on how hot you like it 2 medium green peppers 1 red onion 2 cans tomatoes -- 12 oz each - drained or 4 to 5 fresh seeded tomatoes 1/2 cup finely chopped fresh coriander -- or parsley * Also in Heart of the Home, Ann Jackson (1995) * Mario says never substitute dried herbs for this. Yield: 4 to 5 cups Blend the cucumber and jalapenos in a blender until you have a very smooth liquid. chop the green pepper, onion, and tomatoes very finely. Put in a bowl and stir in the cucumber/jalapeno mixture along with the chopped coriander or parsley. He perfected the following recipe, and we both swear by it.
