Guest guest Posted November 14, 2000 Report Share Posted November 14, 2000 * Exported from MasterCook * Orange and Green Pate Recipe By :Estrogen, The Natural Way - Nina Shandler Serving Size : 8 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- Orange layers 2 cups sliced carrots 3 garlic cloves -- quartered 4 1/8 x 1-inch slices fresh ginger 16 ounces firm tofu 1 tablespoon yellow miso Green layers 20 ounces fresh spinach 4 garlic cloves -- quartered 4 1/8 x 1-inch slices fresh ginger 16 ounces firm tofu 1 tablespoon yellow miso Preheat the oven to 350F. Prepare the carrot pate: Steam the carrots over 2 cups of water for 5 minutes or until tender. Place the garlic and ginger in a food processor with the S blade inserted. Mince. Break the tofu into several smaller chunks. Place them in the processor. Add the yellow miso. Process until smooth. Add the steamed carrots. Process until fully combined. Taste. If needed, add more miso. Turn the mixture into a bowl. Prepare the spinach pate: Steam the spinach over 2 cups of water for 5 minutes or until tender. Place the garlic and ginger in the processor. Mince. Break the tofu into several smaller chunks. Place them in the processor. Add the yellow miso. Process until smooth. Add the steamed spinach. Process until fully combined. Taste. If needed, add more miso. Spread half the carrot pate in a 9 x 5-inch nonstick or oiled loaf pan. Spread half the spinach pate on top. Use the remainder of the carrot pate to make another layer. Use the remainder of the spinach pate to make a final layer. Bake for 30 minutes, until firm and lightly browned. Remove from the pan by covering with a serving plate, then turning over. Serve.
