Guest guest Posted November 10, 2000 Report Share Posted November 10, 2000 I plan to try these real soon - I used to enjoy the less healthy alternative swimming in sour cream- * Exported from MasterCook * Swedish " Meatballs " Recipe By :Estrogen, The Natural Way - Nina Shandler Serving Size : 4 Preparation Time :0:00 Categories : Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method -------- ------------ -------------------------------- 4 new potatoes -- diced canola-oil spray 14 ounces soy ground " beef " -- formed into tabespoon-size balls 4 garlic cloves -- quartered 19 ounces silken tofu 1/3 cup soy milk plus 2 tablespoons soy milk 2 teaspoons ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander 2 tablespoons tamari soy sauce Place the potatoes in 1 quart of boiling water. Cook, covered, over medium-high heat. Spray a large frying pan with oil. Heat over medium-high heat. Add the " meatballs " and brown, turning occasionally. Place the garlic in a food processor with the S blade inserted. Mince. Add the tofu, 1/3 cup soy milk, cumin, coriander, and tamari. Process until smooth and creamy. Pour the mixture iinto the frying pan wiith the browned " meatballs. " Reduce the heat to medium. Cook without boiling, stirring occasionally. When the potatoes are soft, drain and place in a mixing bowl. Add the 2 tablespoons of soy milk. Mash with an electric mixer or potato masher. Serve the " meatballs " and gravy spooned over the potatoes. Description: " Use a soy ground " beef, " found in the refrigerator or freezer section of your health food store.
