To boost the estrogenic effect with added boron, just add dried fruit. Or use this cereal like sugar: Sprinkle it generously on hot cereals. If you make this recipe, keep plenty on hand. At our house, we're always finding new ways to use it. I sprinkle it on fruit salad. Michael eats it directly from the bowl. And my daughter's roommate dips strawberries in it. To vary this recipe, add a tablespoon of ground orange peel, cardamom, cinnamon, or nutmeg. Preheat the oven to 300F. Grind the flaxseed in an electric coffee grinder 1/3 cup at a time. Place the ground seeds in a bowl Add the maple syrup and walnuts. Stir until the seeds are thoroughly coated with maple syrup. Spread the mixture over a cookie sheet. Bake for 5 minutes. Stir. Bake for 5 more minutes, until lightly toasted. Immediately loosen from the cookie sheet with a spatula. Cool. Serve with soy milk. Store any unused portion in the refrigerator. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Per serving: 614 Calories (kcal); 35g Total Fat; (49% calories from fat); 19g Protein; 64g Carbohydrate; 0mg Cholesterol; 31mg Sodium Food Exchanges: 2 Grain(Starch); 2 Lean Meat; 0 Vegetable; 0 Fruit; 6 Fat; 2 1/2 Other Carbohydrates Nutr.
