Prepare fire for direct-heat cooking. Loosen husks, but do not remove. Wash corn under running water. Close husks, twisting or tying tips of husks with butcher's string. Place ears in a container of cold water; let stand 20 minutes. When fire is ready, squeeze out excess water from ears; place ears on oiled grill. Cook, giving ears a quarter turn every 5 minutes until husks are evenly browned and kernels are done to taste (about 20 to 25 minutes).
